MAGICAL TRICKS. DEMONIC TREATS. After narrowly escaping her fate as a sacrificial scapegoat, Arcadia Bell is back to normal. Or at least as ordinary as life can be for a renegade magician and owner of a tiki bar that caters to Earthbound demons. She’s gearing up for the busiest day of the year—Halloween—when a vengeful kidnapper paralyzes the community. The influential head of the local Hellfire Club taps Cady to track down the fiendish bogeyman, and now that she’s dating red-hot Lon Butler, the Club’s wayward son, she can hardly say no. Cady and Lon untangle a gruesome thirty-year trail of clues that points to danger for the club members’ children. But locating the person behind the terror will require some metaphysical help from Cady’s loyal bar patrons as well as her potent new Moonchild powers—and she’d better figure it out before the final victim disappears and her own darkest secret becomes her biggest enemy.

The first book in this series hooked me and this one has me sold on this series. I love these characters and the author’s style of writing just makes reading this book so easy and makes you want to continue to learn more about these characters. We get back into this by meeting Cady who is getting ready for the Halloween season and possibly having to deal with more than just a busy bar. I have to say I have grown to love these characters and they are so much fun to read about. Cady soon learns that her help is needed to help figure out who is kidnapping kids in her area.   I loved that this time we got to see even more of Jupe. He is such a cute character and says the funniest things that make me laugh out loud and shake my head. I am starting to love the bond that has formed between him and Cady also and the way they sometimes band together against poor Lon. He really didn’t stand a chance with the two of them.

I will say that I loved this book more than the first one because we really got to see Cady use more of her powers and get used to learning more about what she could do. As this story continues we plenty of action and Cady makes an enemy along the way that I think is going to be a major problem for her as this story continues.   Overall this story was an entertaining read and I can’t wait for the next one in the series.

This book was full of action and you got to learn more about Cady and Lon’s past and there is also a revelation about Jupe that will leave you wondering what will happen next with him. I have to say that I am hoping that Jupe gets his own book soon because he is becoming one of my favorite characters. I think fans of this series will love this one and be left wanting to see what will happen next as there are a few things that happen at the end of this one that leave some questions lingering out there.
