This epic clash of sand and sea will pit brother against brother-and there can only be one winner

In two days, the race for the Sea Court throne will be over-but all the rules have changed. The sea witch, Nieve, has kidnapped Layla and is raising an army of mutant sea creatures to overthrow the crown. Kurt, the one person Tristan could depend on in the battle for the Sea King’s throne, has betrayed him. Now Kurt wants the throne for himself. Tristan has the Scepter of the Earth, but it’s not enough. He’ll have to travel to the mysterious, lost Isle of Tears and unleash the magic that first created the king’s powerful scepter. It’s a brutal race to the finish, and there can only be one winner.

I have to say this series is one that I am sad to see end as I love Tristan and this merworld. They were such a fun group of characters that also seemed so real and fun to be around. We get into this book by having Tristan rounding up help for the final battle for Sea King. I have to say that I loved seeing Tristan evolve as a character and become a fierce fighter. The author showed us so much more about who he was and what made him so loyal to his family and friends even when he didn’t want to be. I have to say that I felt just as betrayed as Tristan when I learned of Kurt’s betrayal.

As we get further into the story we get to see Tristan taking on more of a lead role and stepping up to claim his birthright. I loved seeing him work together to unite the people and to get others to band together to take down Nieve. I have to say that I loved all the new creatures we got to meet and how cool they all were. I loved seeing  how Tristan and Layla finally grew as a couple and moved beyond the friendship zone. They were so cute together and I loved seeing how well they worked together. I think in the end the author tied this series up nicely and I loved the decision she made on who became the new sea person in charge.

Overall the author created an awesome world with great characters and I won’t even say I sad to see them go because she tied up the series in a way that made me happy. The characters got the ending I wanted for them and I loved seeing it all play out. I am looking forward to what the author does next and what new series she may start. I would recommend this one to my lovers of merpeople and all things that involve them. I really enjoyed this one.
