With danger stalking her, Trish knows the only person she can count on is the one man who has the power to leave her breathless. There’s no way she’s letting this spider frighten her away…“It’s not often that something totally new and entertaining comes along, but Kate SeRine doesn’t disappoint with Red. I definitely recommend this to readers who want humor, drama, suspense, and a truly entertaining, ‘feel good’ romance.” —Kate Douglas“A brilliantly twisted tale of murder, ghosts, vampires, criminal investigation and a rocking hot romance.”—Tome Tender“Plenty of romance and action to mix up the excitement.” --Five star top pick from The Romance Reviews

I have been wanting to get to this book in the series because I wanted to know more about Nicky Blue and this book made me love him even more. This book has us finding out the back story on Nicky Blue and Trish Muffet and we learn that the meet before the got to the Here and Now and they had a bit of a connection then but neither one of them pursued it at the time. Trish is doing an investigation and something happens and basically Nicky comes top her rescue and the two start working together to take down the person behind it all. I loved seeing Trish also learn to stand up for herself more but there were a few times she did a few stupid things that I felt could have been avoided but it all worked out in the end. We also learn that Trish has had a few traumas as a kid and I have to say I felt to bad for her and what happened to her and I’m shocked that someone would do that to a kid.

As the story continues Trish and Nicky continue to work towards their common goal to take down the person behind a lot of people’s problems and I loved seeing how well they could work together. The chemistry between them was amazing too and as I learned more about Nicky I figured out what made him so attractive to Trish. He was so loyal, protective but yet you could tell he was damaged and had been through a lot in his lifetime and needed help to heal. I loved that these two were trying to ease into being more than friends but soon learned it wasn’t going to be that simple for them. I also loved that we got a few glimpses of some of the other characters because Lavender, Seth and Gideon came out back a few times to help them out too. I loved how the author weaves them all into the stories to let us see what they all have been up to along the way.

Overall this has become a series that I am loving and enjoying so much. The author spins her own tales and makes these retellings so unique and different from anything out there. She makes me love these characters and wonder what she will do next with them. These books keep me on my toes and normally what happens next is not what I expected at all. I love how we are getting so much back story on who these people were before their lived got turned upside down. I would recommend this one to anyone that loved the other books in this series or those looking for a fairy tale type of read like nothing out there.
