Accidentally Human by Dakota Cassidy Audio Review

three-stars

Immortality bites- new from the author of Accidentally Dead and The Accidental Werewolf. Wanda Schwartz is raking in the dough selling Bobbie-Sue Cosmetics-and she's a pro at recruiting new saleswomen. So, she's shocked when a man comes to one of her in-home parties-a very hot man. Heath Jefferson is sure to put some extra spin into a lot of women's color wheels. When Wanda is diagnosed with a terminal illness, it doesn't have to be a death sentence. With a werewolf and a vampire for best friends, she has options that most ordinary people wouldn't. As Wanda ponders what to do about her mortality, Heath reveals he has secrets, and one of them is that his former bloodlust has turned into an old-fashioned lust-for Wanda. And he's already given up too much to lose the love of his lifetimes.

I have really started to love listening to this series on audio as it brings the characters to life and this one finally let me see Wanda as her own person. I feel like for too long she has been the sidekick to the others and pretty much played the background. She finally steps out of her shell this time around though and we get to learn way more about her. I loved seeing Wanda adjust to the major curve ball that is thrown her way and how she decides to throw caution to the wind and live life. She is so carefree and fun and this made for a really cute listen. Wanda meets a new recruit in the form of Heath and she learns her life may never be the same after that.

As the story continues Wanda gets to learn more about Heath and what has happened with him and why he is now in the position that he is in. In learning more about Heath we get to meet Archibald who I adored. He was so cute and funny and just a welcome attention to the story. Wanda and Heath start to bond and I started to enjoy seeing them work together. Once we learn more about what Wanda is going through leave it up to Marty and Nina to try to help her out of it in the only way they knew how. Of course it leads to pure comedy from there. I think I was shocked at the lengths they tried to go through without having really researched beforehand.

Overall another fun series and I am looking forward to where the next book will take us. The narrator makes these enjoyable listens and I am really loving that they help me get through my workday. These really make my day go by faster and I don’t even realize it. I think the author has the potential to keep going with this series for a while so I am glad to know there are more books out there to listen to. I can’t wait to move on to the next book in the series.
