Storm by Brigid Kemmerer Audio Review

four-stars

Ever since her ex-boyfriend spread lies about her, Becca Chandler is suddenly getting all the guys—the ones she doesn't want. Then she saves Chris Merrick from a beating in the school parking lot. Chris is different. Way different: he can control water—just like his brothers can control fire, wind, and earth. They're powerful. Dangerous. Marked for death.

And now that she knows the truth, so is Becca.

When Hunter, the mysterious new kid in town, turns up with a talent for being in the wrong place at the right time, Becca thinks she can trust him. But then Hunter goes head-to-head with Chris, and Becca wonders who's hiding the most dangerous truth of all . . .

I don’t know why I waited so long to get around to reading this series after hearing so many people rave about it. I couldn’t pass up the chance to listen to this one on audio and it was amazing to say the least. Why did I wait so long to find out who the Merrick brothers where as they are so awesome and hot with incredible abilities. We get into this book by meeting Becca who happens upon Chris Merrick getting beat up by some guys and she stops the fight. She gets him home to his brothers and learns just how different they really are. I loved the Merrick ‘s from the start as they were so close knit and really cared about each other. They were a true family and they really didn’t let many people into their group. As we continue to get into the story we realize that the boys are Elementals and they can all do something different. Chris Merrick can control Water and it is so cool to see him use his abilities.

The story continues and we learn that Becca meets a new friend in Hunter who may not be who he says he is. I have to say the narrator was phenomenal in this one. She made everyone sound so different and that is sometimes a hard thing to pull off. It kept me engrossed though and I continued to get sucked into the story. Becca continues to get close to Chris and as he pulls her out of her shell we find out more about what happened to her the previous year and why she has become the way she is. I instantly liked Becca and Chris together as I could tell they had an easy attraction to each other and I loved seeing them together.

Overall I think I have found another audio series that I have fallen in love with. This book had action, hot guys with powers and love what more can you ask for. I enjoyed every minute of it and it made my time pass by so quickly. I loved the narrator and I plan to look into more audios that she has narrated since I enjoyed her so much. I can’t wait to continue with this series and see where else it takes me and I am looking forward to learning all about the other brothers and their abilities.
