Welcome to Harborsmouth, where monsters walk the streets
unseen by humans…except those with second sight, like Ivy Granger.

Some things are best left unseen...

Ivy Granger's second sight is finally giving her life purpose. Ivy and her best friend Jinx may not be raking in the dough, but their psychic detective agency pays the bills—most of the time. Their only worry is the boredom of a slow day and the occasional crazy client—until a demon walks through their door.

Demons are never a good sign...

A demon attorney representing the water fae? Stranger things have happened. And things are about to get very, very strange as a bloodthirsty nightmare hunts the city of Harborsmouth.

There's blood in the water...

Kelpies have a reputation for eating humans. Unfortunately, Kelpies are the clients. When an Unseelie faerie this evil stalks the waterways of your city, you have to make hard choices.

The lesser of two evils...

I have to say I think I have found another new series to get into on audio as this was a really fun and entertaining listen. The author has created too really fun characters in Ivy and Jinks and the friendship they have is really cool. The author has created such a unique world in Harborsmouth and it was fun to imagine a town full of different creatures that walk among humans that are unable to see them. I found myself listening to this audio and thinking about how cool it would be to have an ability like Ivy to see what others couldn’t.  Ivy came off as a really strong character who I liked from the start and I can’t wait for what she does next.

As the story continues we get to see Ivy take on a case from an Unseelie on finding a missing bridle and that is when the fun really starts. Ivy learns there is a great evil out in the town and that she will need lots of help to bring it down.I think what I loved about this book the most is learning about all the different supernatural creatures that were out there. The author made them all so unique and interesting that I can’t wait to find out more. I think the one that I didn’t care for and maybe it will have to grow on me would be the bit of rushed romance that happens between Ivy and Ceff but I get why it happened. I just think I would have needed more to be developed between them first before them jumping in.

Overall the town of Harborsmouth was tons of fun. There are supernatural creatures galore and you will find yourself hearing about some you may have never heard about. The author does a good job of making Ivy such a tough character and I loved all her interactions with Jinks. They really had that whole awesome best friends thing working in their favor. I think I even had a few laugh out loud moments along the way. I am interested in seeing where the next book takes us.
